Seniors: Health Screening for Incomeshield Upgraders

From 24 Aug 2009, NTUC IncomeShield policyholders aged 61 years old and above who submit Upgrade Applications to Advantage & Preferred ‘as-charged’ plans, will be required to undergo a simple health screening at the National Healthcare Group's (NHG) Health for Life Centres.

Currently, this is only for Upgrade Applications and does not apply to New Applications.

After submission of the upgrade application, the applicant will be notified via letter to make appointment with the Centre of their choice; and bring the letter to the Centre for verification.

The health screening cost will be borne by NTUC Income and the medical report will be sent directly to them for underwriting. The policyholder will not be given a copy of the medical report.

In the event that the applicant chooses to upgrade to a health screening package above what NTUC have specified for him/her, the added screening costs shall be borne by the policyholder.
