Investor Education by SGX and CFA

SGX and CFA join hands to hold investor seminars as part of a nationwide investor education campaign. There will be a series of six seminars beginning in February. These seminars are aimed at enhancing the investing knowhow of retail investors, especially with the introduction of new products on the exchange, such as American depository receipts (ADRs), exchange traded funds (ETFs), bond offerings and Euro STOXX 50 futures.

This is the first time that the SGX Academy and CFA Singapore - a professional body of practitioners in the investment and fund management industry - are collaborating to provide comprehensive coverage of exchange-listed investment classes to the investing public.

The first seminar will be held on 19 Feb 2011. It will cover the following-
• Analyzing your Financial Situation
• Understanding Securities Markets
• Investing & Trading in Equities (including ADRs and ETFs)
• Investor Forum / Panel Discussion

On 5 Mar 2011, the second seminar covers
 • Investing and Trading in Trust Securities (REITs, Business Trusts and Shipping Trusts)
• Investing in Fixed Income Securities
• Trading in Futures, Options and Warrants
• Investor Forum / Panel Discussion
